About Me
I am John Tennant, 21 years old. I have recently graduated from Leeds Trinity and All Saints College with a degree in History B.A Hons. I have always been interested in politics, and the issues I am concerned with today are the European Union, the Police Force and Justice system. I joined the United Kingdom Independence Party in January 2008 in disgust at the ‘Big Three’ having scant disregard for the real problems that Britain suffers today. They propose policies that have no chance of being implemented because that group remain committed to the European Union, which is the real legislative power.
This is where my focus has shifted, I believe that Britain is Better Off Out of the undemocratic and federalist Political Union, and should return to a simple free trade agreement that the British people were in favour of in the 1975 Referendum. I simply want my country back.
I am concerned with the state of the Police Force and our Justice system. The Police Force is constantly being strangled by red tape and our Justice system is being severely weakened by the Human Rights Act. I am committed to a dynamic Police Force and the repealing of the Human Rights Act – let’s start punishing criminals. Unfortunately, these proposals cannot be put into effect unless we divorce ourselves from the E.U, only then can we truly be ‘Independent’.
